Are you wondering if The Rent Disputes Tribunal can process your case? We process disputes regarding housing tenancy across all of Norway, including Svalbard. Both tenants and landlords can submit a complaint.

The Rent Disputes Tribunal can process disputes regarding housing tenancy.

The dispute must concern housing tenancy

The Rent Disputes Tribunal does not process disputes between hotels or other similar overnight lodging houses and their guests. We also do not process disputes regarding housing accommodations for travel- or recreational use, or leasing of space for commercial use.

Make sure of this before you submit a complaint

  • What is agreed upon? Check your tenancy agreement to find out what the you have agreed upon.
  • Both landlords and tenants have rights and obligations according to the Tenancy Act. You can find information about what laws apply through the link at the bottom of the page.
  • It can often be beneficial to have a conversation with the opposing part to see if you can find a solution.
