Announcement of claims and decisions
Norsk Lysingsblad (the Norwegian Gazette) is an online gazette where information about various claims, etc. is published. In order to make it easier for you to find out if a claim or decision about a claim has been published, we have created a link to Norsk Lysingsblad here.
When the HTU receives claims for processing, these have to be published (announced/reported) for the respondent. Once the HTU has decided a case, its decision also has to be published for the parties.
Normally notification is provided in a letter accompanied by a receipt which the respondent should sign and return to the HTU to show that he has received the claim or decision. If the respondent fails to return the receipt, the HTU can ask a process-server (the Police/Lensman) to deliver a claim/decision to the respondent. Sometimes it may be difficult to get hold of the respondent. In such cases a claim/decision can be notified by placing an advertisement in the newspapers and in Norsk Lysingsblad.
In order to find announcements about claims and decisions relating to HTU cases, you can key in Husleietvistutvalget (the Rent Disputes Tribunal) under Fritekstsøk (free-text search) and then click on the "Search" button.
Norsk Lysingsblad's announcements about claims
In your capacity as the complainant or respondent, you will obviously also be sent other case documents, but in such cases you are not required to return a receipt to show that you have received the documents, that the process-server has delivered them or that they are being published in Norsk Lysingsblad.
If you see that you have been named as the respondent in a case and think that you have not received all the case documents, you can contact us at the HTU and ask. It may be worth your while to respond to the claim.
