Are you wondering if The Rent Disputes Tribunal can process your case? We process disputes regarding housing tenancy across all of Norway, including Svalbard. Both tenants and landlords can submit a complaint.

The dispute must be regarding housing tenancy

The Rent Disputes Tribunal does not process disputes between hotels or other similar accomodation establishements and their guests. We also do not process disputes regarding housing accommodations for travel- or recreational use, or leasing of space for commercial use.


Check this before you submit a complaint

  • What is agreed upon? Check your rental agreement to find out what the two of you have agreed upon.
  • Both landlords and tenants have rights and obligations according to the Tenancy Act. You can find information about what rules and regulations apply through the link at the bottom of the page.
  • It can often be beneficial to have a conversation with the opposing part to see if you can find a solution.
